MARLBOROUGH PENGUINS A.S.C.

There is a need to hold a one off Sunday afternoon Gala for Group 4 Widths, 9 year old (and Under), and 10 year old Swimmers, in order that some outstanding 2007 Championship Trophies can be awarded.

The Gala will be held on SUNDAY 16TH MARCH 2008 - 4.00pm until 6.00pm.

Competition is to be run under ASA Laws and Technical Rules.
Results will be as Heat Declared Winners.
All races 25m in length.
Registration is at 3.40pm but there is no entry to the Changing Rooms until 4pm.
Entry Fees - 50p per event
Spectators welcome - £1.00 per adult, Children free.
Closing date for entries Friday 29th February 2008

Special Conditions

• Group 4 Widths Category - swimmers must have been in Group 4 in October and November 2007.
• 9&U and 10 year old Category swimmers – ages as at 24th November 2007.

Over the weekend of 12th/13th January 2008 we took 8 swimmers to the Corsham Open Meet.

Results
Jack Morris gained one PB
Abbie Moss took 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals and two 4th places gaining 3 PB’s
William Sexton took 1 silver Medal and one 4th place gaining 4 PB’s.
Charlie Cox took 1 gold medal and 2 silver medals gaining 3 new times
Tegan Williams gained 2 new times
Jamie Hamp gained one PB
Mathew Hamp took 1 bronze medal and gained a PB
Rebecca Larcombe gained two PB’s
There was also an overall trophy for the best in each age group, this was decided by totalling points from the best Sprint, Form, Medley and Freestyle races - Abbie Moss came 4th overall in her age group.
Again we had a really good weekend and came away with a total of 1 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals as well as three 4th places.

Lindsay Reid gained two PB’s
Well done Lindsay as the competition in her age group was very fierce with swimmers from all over the country competing.

On Sunday November 11th 2007 we took 6 swimmers to the Wroughton 50m Sprint Meet.
Results
Lindsay Reid took 4 gold medals gaining 4 PB’s.
Hanna Carter took 2 gold medals and one 4th place gaining 1 PB
Tegan Williams gained 2 new times
Abbie Moss took 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and one 5th place
Rebecca Carter took 1 silver medal; 1 bronze medal and two 4th places.
Theo Tipping took 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal gaining one PB.
The swimmers all had a really good day and it was great for the club to come away with a total of 9 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals as well as three 4th places.
