Tigersharks Open Meet

On Sunday 27th April 2008 Jane Moss took 11 swimmers to the Tigersharks Meet at the Link centre, Alison Keen and Jacquie Henley also helped on poolside.
It was another very successful day for our swimmers who came away with 26 PB’s and 16 medals between them, Abbie Moss also got 2 speeding tickets as she swam faster than the permitted qualifying times.

Abbie Moss – Speeding Tickets 100m Free & 100m Back, Gold 50m Free, Silver 100m Fly
Lucy Keen – Silver 100m Back, Bronze 50m Free
Theo Tipping – Silver 100m Breast
Jack Morris - Gold 50m Free, Silver 100m Back & 100m Breast
George Sheldrick – Gold 50m Back, Silver 50m Fly & 200m I.M.
Charlie Cox – Bronze 50m Fly & 50m Free

June 22nd - Tigersharks Invitation Only Sprint Meet (12+)
16th July - Open Water Competition at the Cotswold Water Park (12+)
19th & 20th July - Team Bath Non National Qualifier Meet (Selected swimmers only)
27th July – Tigersharks Separated Medley
2nd August – Swindon Dolphins End of Season Meet

Salisbury Spring Open Meet

On Sunday 20th April 2008 Jane Moss took 17 swimmers to Salisbury for the Spring Open Meet, Jo Parkinson Hill and Mike Stone also helped on poolside organising the warm ups and helping the swimmers get to the right place at the right time.
It was a really successful day for all our swimmers who came away with 16 medals and 52 PB’s between them.

Abbie Moss – Gold 100m Fly, 100m Free, 50m Back, 50m Fly, 50m Free, Silver in the 100m I.M. and Bronze in the 100m Back
Juliette Casini – Gold 50m Free, Silver 50m Back
Charlie Cox – Gold in the 50m Back, Silver in the 100m I.M and 50m Free
Lindsay Reid - Silver in the 50m Fly
George Sheldrick – Bronze in the 100m Back and 100m Breast
Jack Morris – Bronze in the 50m Back

Abbie Moss came 1st overall in her age group
Charlie Cox came 2nd overall in his age group
George Sheldrick 3rd overall in his age group

50^th Anniversary

Wednesday21 May 1958 – 21 May 2008

Town Hall, Marlborough 7 for 7.30pm

To commemorate the 50^th anniversary of the formation of Marlborough Penguins on 21 May 1958 the Club has decided to fund some special events. It was felt appropriate that the actual date should be celebrated to “kick off” this special year. Therefore you are all invited to the Marlborough Town hall on Wednesday 21^st May to meet members old and new and join with all of us in drinks and refreshments.

We will try to accommodate as many of you as possible but to assist with the catering arrangements please could you indicate if you wish to attend.

The evening will be an informal chance for us all to get together and look forward to the next 50 years as well as celebrating the last 50.

At the event we hope to have details of other celebratory events throughout the year and we hope to see as many of you there as possible

There will be no charge for the evening so please come and join us.
