Winter
Sunday, March 22nd, 200928th February at Trowbridge
Unfortunately we couldn’t live up to our form in the first three rounds of this year’s Winter League as we produced a disappointing performance in the second Division 1 final at Trowbridge. With only 17 pbs in total compared to the 37 we had in the previous round at Salisbury, we were always up against it. Throw in some close finishes (that we lost out on), some poor takeovers and some disqualifications and there you have it!
We finished in 5th place on the night with 121 points; Corsham A won easily with 214 pts; Warminster swam brilliantly to gain 142 pts for 2nd place (we beat them at Salisbury in round 3!); whilst both Trowbridge B on 134 pts and Wroughton on 124pts were within striking distance of us. Swindon Dolphins B were behind us with 76 pts. We finished in 11th place overall, our lowest finish for some time. We did, however, retain our place in Division 1 for next year which is important.
Well done to all swimmers who have competed over the winter and hopefully we can build on our successes and move on from this disappointing result. Big thanks to Mike Wootton for all his hard work as team manager and to all the parents and friends of the Club who have turned out as officials, poolside helpers and supporters.
