Kevin

Club members will be aware that Kevin died at Great Western Hospital on 29th April.
Kevin was, in the words of Alan Crook, “A stalwart for the club, working in the background”. Indeed he was. Quiet, friendly, always polite and unfailingly reliable, Kevin was one of those invaluable people that clubs like Marlborough Penguins depend upon. Along with Laurien, Rebecca and Hannah, Kevin has been involved in Penguins in a variety of ways. Unable to swim a stroke, Kevin supported the club through his activities as a qualified timekeeper and judge. He was an ever present official at league galas, Club Championships and county events on behalf of the club. In addition to this regular commitment, Kevin (along with Laurien) organized the Club Championships for a number of years. During this time a range of developments and changes were introduced as a result of the excellent objective perspective that Kevin brought to the role of Championship organizer. Kevin had also spent time recently working on the Club’s membership and registration details.
The Club and its members will certainly miss Kevin’s hard-work behind the scenes, his re-assuring presence at galas and his commitment to the success of the Club.
Our thoughts are with Laurien, Rebecca and Hannah at this sad time.
